How did I end up doing this?
Hi, I’m Vicki, and my journey into the world of body art began many years ago, back in my teenage days. It all started with—wait for it—a couple of clowns. Yes, clowns! I was involved in a youth ministry program at my parish, where I would dress up as a clown. I absolutely loved it! When I wasn’t busy with other activities, I would spend hours painting faces—mine, my sister’s, the neighborhood kids… anyone who’d sit still long enough. This was long before the days of the internet, so I got pretty creative with my boredom. During my college years, I continued my face-painting journey, volunteering at local community celebrations and events. Fast forward a decade (or, okay, maybe two)—and my passion for body art led me to bridal makeup. I worked with brides and bridal parties, helping them shine on their big day. In 2016, I rediscovered my love for body art, this time focusing on face painting, custom-made body jewelry, and the dazzling world of glitter applications. These days, I’m constantly experimenting with new designs and keeping up with the latest trends in body art. I continue to learn from the top professionals in the Face, Body, and Entertainment Art industries, always striving to push the boundaries of creativity. What makes my services unique? Each child who sits in my chair is unique, and I make sure they feel that way. The few precious minutes they spend with me are all about them. My full attention is dedicated to your child—there are no distractions from the line, conversations with parents, or the bustle around us. I engage with them, telling stories and asking about their interests. It’s not just face painting; it’s about creating a memorable experience. I bring a calm, soothing, and playful energy to every session, one that has been especially effective with both children facing challenges and those with special needs, including Autism, Sensory Processing, and ADHD. I am always attuned to their body language, gently guiding them to be part of the design process at their own pace. Every child has the autonomy to choose the design they want, ensuring they feel in control of their own experience. It’s important to me that every child feels comfortable. I will never paint a child who is under duress or asleep, and I will never touch a child who does not wish to be touched. Above all, I will never pressure a child into being painted if they are not ready or willing. This is my promise to you and your child. Why do I do it? What motivates me to paint is the pure joy I see on a child’s face during the “great reveal.” The moment when they see themselves transformed into the character or image they’ve envisioned is truly magical. That spark of excitement, confidence, and happiness is something I live for. It’s this very feeling that inspired me to turn my passion into a business, so I can share that magic with as many children as possible. |
